Journey Through Baroque Magnificence
Just passing by Porta Napoli, the large and majestic arch that takes its name from the fact that it was once the beginning of the road to get to Naples. you’ll encounter the Basilica of Santa Croce, a prime example of Baroque architecture in the Salento region.In full Baroque style, the façade is luxurious and rich in decorative that seem to emerge organically from the structure itself.
Cherubs, flowers and fruit surround the beautiful central rose window. The splendor and richness in decorations continues inside,with three naves featuring columns, small chapels, and altars all decorated in the Baroque style.
Lecce's Roman Amphitheater and Baroque Basilica

Characterized by its elliptical shape, the amphitheater features tiered seating where spectators once gathered, overlooking a central “stage.” With an estimated capacity of around 25,000 spectators, this remarkable structure offers insight into the grandeur of ancient Roman gatherings.
