The morning will begin with a visit to the historic center of Modena. Starting from Piazza Grande, you will admire the famous Romanesque Cathedral and the Ghirlandina tower, two of the symbols of Modena. Here, you will also observe the Town Hall, characterized by a breathtaking portico.
Passing through the Jewish Ghetto, you will have the opportunity to admire the Synagogue in Piazza Mazzini and then the Ducal Palace, a baroque building built in 1634 which hosts the venue of the Military Accademy. Afterwards, you will arrive at the Albinelli covered market, dotted with food stalls: where you can take the opportunity to taste some typical dishes before visiting a balsamic vinegar factory, where the secrets of the so-called “black gold” of Modena will be illustrated. At the end of the explanation you will have the opportunity to taste the different types of vinegar. Lunch on your own. In the afternoon you will take part to a local cooking class at a local’s home. The “chef” will introduce you to the unique ingredients of the area and reveal the secrets to enhance them in the kitchen. The lesson will end with the prepared dinner: 3 courses and matching wines.
