Day 4: Montalcino- Winery Tour- Brunello Tasting
A journey to discover Tuscan wine cannot fail to include an obligatory stop in Montalcino. Enjoy the beautiful Tuscan landscapes with your guide as you travel to Montalcino, a renowned wine town perched on a hill. During this trip you will discover more about the process and passion needed to create the famous Brunello and enjoy a local lunch. First, you will walk through the vineyards and explore the cellars where this famous wine is produced and aged and then enjoy an introductory tasting of Brunello. After that, your guide will take you to visit the hill town of Montalcino. You can admire the town's medieval fortress and spend time browsing its streets and shops all while enjoying incredible views of the valleys and vineyards below. Afterwards, you can delight your palate with a traditional Tuscan lunch in a family-run winery, accompanied by exquisite wines produced on the estate. After lunch, the guide will take you to discover the ancient and spectacular Benedictine Abbey of Sant'Antimo, a special place immersed in a breathtaking landscape. In the afternoon, you will visit two other wineries where you will be provided with a detailed description of the winemaking process and here you will obviously have the opportunity to taste their wines before returning to Siena.
